ModFest hosts collaborative Minecraft modding virtual events, including development jams and in-game conventions!
ModFest is all about facilitating a space where modders can feel a genuine connection to an audience, outside of a download count or comment section. Our events - ModFest and BlanketCon - are made possible by enthusiastic members of the community: - Participants create mods, builds, and host events. - Volunteers contribute original art, builds, and music, and develop our in-house mods. - our Team maintains infrastructure and creates new events. - Tourists visit our events and make the whole thing worthwhile!
ModFest has $0. We're not simply a non-profit - we have no coffers, nor revenue. Our servers are all provided gratis, and our album sales are split directly among artists with no cut.
ModFest events aren't competitions - they're about bringing people together. We don't believe people need incentives to create, they just need an excuse. ModFest is a good excuse.
We're passionate about making our events better, but we'd never take the ship down with us. All of our infrastructure is open-source - and we encourage others to run similar events for their own communities.
