The Philosophy Cafe is a unique space – something like a years-long, ongoing virtual philosophy conference covering the entire discipline, complete with the banter and camaraderie you’d find at the bar on conference evenings. We are a philosophy-oriented community centered on Discord since 2017, and our primary goal is to make high-level discussion of philosophy accessible to everyone in an inviting space. To that end, we host dozens of active weekly reading groups on topics ranging over Aristotle, Buddhism, the philosophy of science, metaphilosophy, and so much more. Reading groups are entirely user-run, and boast hundreds of participants actively committed to reading and engaging philosophy texts, from undergraduate and graduate students to professors and autodidacts.
