Welcome to Uncompromising Mode!

Uncompromising Mode (often shortened to "Uncomp" or "UM") is a mod created with the goal of revitalizing the difficulty of DST. The mod adds randomness, variety, and challenge to the game's core mechanics, without making the experience annoying and tedious. However, it isn't simply just "a harder experience". Uncompromising Mode houses a lot of new content such as new characters, mechanics, items, mobs, biomes, and bosses.

Prominent Features! * Rebalances and tweaks to nearly everything in the game! * Random Night Events. Something may be lurking in the dark. * More Nightmare Creatures. Insanity is an actual threat now; Stay past the brink and you may never return. * A new overworld biome called the Hooded Forest, which houses a lot of new content including a new boss! * The Veteran's Curse, a special Difficulty mode that grants access to powerful items at the cost of your wellbeing. * A custom OST, containing music composed by Adam Ogrodnik * And much, much more...

Most features in Uncompromising Mode can be configured and/or disabled. So people of all skill levels can enjoy the new content!
